When you needed me

I was always there

Somehow love

Made you my priority

But when in need

For hug and care

You were nowhere

Nowhere close

To even know

How I felt

And it panged my heart

And ached my head

Like a dessert

In thirst

With only

A mirage of an oasis

You were never there

When I needed you the most

And I could not help

But think how

Unfortunate I was

To only give

Never receive

What I needed the most

And this, you preached

Is what a man wants

From a woman

A heart that listens

And never complains

But I am only human

For pity’s sake

And I too need love

And care and a heart

That listens.
